Remembering Rick Barker
A favorite photo of Rick's.
Rick, love your special contribution to so many..selfless, always so kind to all, you gave us some beautiful life messages and humor and whit beyond compare. In such a small community, I experience memories of you every day. I feel you close by very often. I envision you listening to our daily ponderings but it is not the same without you...we are not as witty and knowledgeable as you. We have a lot to learn in your absence. But thank you for the life lessons Rick! You are loved.
Now listening to Peter Gabriel's Secret World....The Blood Of Eden...a moment of bliss... thank you Richard H Barker for gifting me your Peter Gabriel collection...miss you...♡♡♡
Papa, tonight I really miss you, and I heard this song. You know. And then I thought, I'm angry and sad that I can't talk to him. And I hear him say "But is that TRUE?"
Rick Barker's lecture on Art is a combination of critique and mysticism. It will show you the mind of his that RIck gave to this community, to the consciuosness he gave to Idyllwild and why he was so beloved.
A few days before his birthday, members and volunteers of the Idyllwild Orchard Project pose after planting an Apricot Tree in Rick Barker's honor. It will begin fruiting in the center of town at Higher Grounds next year.
